The Ice Fishing Challenge committee would like to thank everyone that came to our 9th Annual Ice Fishing Challenge, including all participants, spectators and volunteers. We appreciate everyone that took the time to come out to enjoy our event. We would also like to congratulate those who won one our many prizes. You can view the entire list in the "2009 Results" tab.
Next year's tournament is tentatively scheduled for February 13, 2010 and we hope to see you all next year for the 10th Annual Ice Fishing Challenge.
A special acknowledgment and thank you to Alexandria Rotary, Osakis Prom Committee, Boy Scout Troop 418, Alexandria Swim Club, Alexandria Technical College (CAMC and Law Enforcement), Douglas County Parks Department, KIKV-radio and Andes Tower Hill Ski Patrol. A very special thanks goes to Alex Concrete, R and R Concrete, Central Specialties, Inc., Lakes Area Excavation, Alex Irrigation, and U Relax Lawn Care and Roger Wittmer for helping to prepare our parking area and event grounds, to Alex RV and PortaStor for providing warming houses for the comfort and safety of our participants, and to West Central Sanitation for its ongoing support and promotion of our event.
We also thank the Douglas County Sheriff Posse, Douglas County Sheriff's Office and Mike Sheldon, local DNR officer, and his co-workers from around the state for their presence at the event. Their help and availability to answer questions was welcome. If we have left anyone out, please forgive us, as it is not intentional, it's just that there are so many that make this event happen.
